One of the most frustrating parts about being a photographer is having a vision for your own photos but not being able to stand in front of and behind the camera at the same time. So what's the logical next step? Self portraits... Set up that tripod, grab that remote and have at it. But when you're 36 weeks pregnant, jumping up and down, running back and forth is hard... harder than I thought. So I enlisted the help of my husband. Thankfully he's patient and understood my very subpar directing on capturing the photos I wanted. We took a lot of photos, and he and I both learned a lot.... but by the end we got enough material that I could work a little magic and create the exact photographs I envisioned!

Now most of you know I love beautiful and classic, but also love fun and real. I like to tell stories. My studio is the world... outside, in home, in hospital... I shoot on location. Being that it is January, I had no desire to do outdoor portraits. I wanted the coziness of in-home maternity photos. But at the same time I wanted the glamour of "the gown". I hope you enjoy a peek at my own personal Maternity Portraits that my dear Husband helped create...
