Capturing the first days of your baby's life can be so important. From snuggles to feeding to diaper changes to bonding, there is so much going on, and it can be easy to get caught up in the exhaustion and overwhelm of postpartum, and forget to slow down and enjoy your baby. The truth is, newborns are not always enjoyable. Let's be honest. But they have their moments, so let's remember them!
This is the last family I had the honor of photographing in New Jersey, before moving to Wichita Falls, Texas. It was such a special session. You'll notice that baby is being syringe fed some of Mama's amazing milk! I'm always so in awe of a mom's dedication to work through nursing challenges and to commit to pumping... and I also love when my two worlds collide like this! As an IBCLC, I think it is so important to document the various ways parents feed their babies to understand breastfeeding doesn't always look like we pictured, but challenges can be worked through (note: I am not her IBCLC and I have permission to share these images so no privacy concerns are being violated.)
