Building a Photographer Community

One of the best things I did as a photographer was join a facebook group for other "MamaTogs" (Mom Photographers).

The information shared, support given, and encouragement that flows through this group is really inspiring.

This past week I had the opportunity to attend a fun photographer meet up. These meet ups are always great for a few reasons: 1.) Adult interaction and connection... trying to start a business from home while a stay at home mom feels like 3 full time jobs, sometimes with NO adult interaction! Chatting with grown ups is a welcome relief! 2.) We get to chat about our businesses, our struggles and triumphs, lessons learned... and at least we know we aren't alone in the trenches. 3.) We get to practice taking photographs of each other and have photos taken of us!

I had a blast with these girls and loved the location! We took each other's headshots (Check out Jenna's work on my About page!) I got to practice some new editing techniques and just overall really appreciate this group and the experiences we share, and opportunities available!

As you can see these fellow South Jersey photographers are extremely talented! I feel so honored to call them colleagues and I really appreciate the opportunities to collaborate with other photographers.
