Wow! What an amazing year 2019 was! Both personally and professionally, I reached so many goals and had so many intense experiences. On the personal note, I had a home birth (second VBAC, first home birth), and it was my first unmedicated birth. Birthing in a standing position, and pulling my own baby into my arms as my husband yelled, "it's a girl" will forever be one of my best memories. From that HIGH high I hit a LOW low just three weeks later when my husband deployed for the first time, leaving me with three kids, at the time, 3 and under. I found a new kind of strength and we all survived until he came home, then I sat for my International Board Certified Lactation Consultant exam, and waited 2.5 months to find out I PASSED! All the while, I was FINALLY starting my birth business and began working as a doula and birth photographer. Supporting families in this way has ignited a whole new side of me and the absolute overwhelming honor I feel to be able to support these families can not be put into words. 2019 was certainly a year of extreme growth and realization of strength. I have seen myself find emotional and physical strength, I've watched these strong, beautiful women dig into their inner strength and bring their babies earthside in their own unique, beautiful ways. So without further ado, here are my top photos from 2019! Comment below to let me know which one is your favorite!!! I just might enter that one into a birth photo contest this year!
