Hi! I'm Jaimie! Thank you for considering me as your photographer and doula. I'm looking forward to walking alongside you as you harness your strength and bloom into a beautiful, confident mother. I can't wait to meet you, get to know your family, and help tell your own unique story.
A few of my favorite things....
1. I start every day with a warm coffee. As much as I try to kick the coffee, I can't. It's like a warm hug from an old friend.
2. I love to occasionally indulge in a bowl of ice cream, or a glass of wine.... sometimes together. Yes. I drink red wine floats. Yes, it's weird. And yes, it's delicious.
3. I'm originally from Maryland and have lived in Colorado, South Carolina, and New Jersey before moving to Texas. I miss the East Coast, but feel more at home in Texas than anywhere else.
Now you know my quirks... let's talk about birth. I am a mom to three amazing Little Bears, and I have had every kind of birth experience... Okay...not EVERY...but from Cesarean, to epidural VBAC, to unmedicated home birth... I've been there. I know the crazy emotions that come with different kinds of births and I know the sacredness of the birth space, regardless where that is or what it looks like.
And I know, first hand, why photos of your baby's birth are so important. I don't have photos from my first birth. I needed them to process everything that happened. I don't have photos from the moment I met my son, but there are plenty of photos of my husband and son (who were separated from me after birth). It was hard. It felt so unfair.
But that's not the only reason photos are important.
My family is a military family, so I understand the dynamics that come with having your support system miles or even states away during this special time in life. It's another reason why quality photographs are so vital, so that your family and friends can partake in your experience of motherhood from afar.
The photos are important.
The photos matter.
I have been dabbling in photography off and on since 2008, but really got serious around 2017. I've been studying birth, breastfeeding, and birth photography, specifically, since 2015 and finally jumped into actually attending births in 2019. I wanted to be sure I was educated and skilled enough so that I wouldn't ruin anyone's precious birth story. I vow to be the birth keeper and storyteller you need.
I also provide doula support and am an IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant). It is so important for families with new babies to have support from someone who is both professionally knowledgable and personally experienced. Your family is provided with the tools necessary to prepare for birth and postpartum, communicate with your providers about questions and concerns, and learn about options and where to find additional support when needed.
Birth photography not your thing? That's okay! We can still capture the love and connections you experience during your pregnancy and postpartum.
You can also book maternity portraits, newborn sessions, milestone sessions, mommy & me, and much more!
